OK, I may have lied

Unintentionally, of course. But due to my not knowing 100% what this presentation was about, I am changing my topic.

Instead, I will be presenting on the developing use of new media promoting one of the gas stations from my hometown, The Corner.

Here you will find their Facebook page.

New Media Presentation

When I do my presentation, I will be giving information as to how non profit organizations use new media in their work.

Using the website nonprofitquarterly.org, I will state ways that non profit organizations do their advertising, tips for using the media, and how social media effects how people can view the organizations.

Progressive Technology

It started with this old Mickey Mouse game I played when I was little that was played on a 5" floppy disk

As new computers were introduced to the house, my games list progressed to the Sims, Scooby Doo,

Battlefield 1942, many Winnie the Pooh and Reader Rabbit educational games, a Tortoise and the Hare game, and Zuma Deluxe.

After moving past the slow methods of dial up connection and into a wireless router, I played many online games from websites like Disney, Nickelodeon, Shockwave, and Addicting Games.

I got a Game Boy Advance when I was around 8 years old for Christmas one year from my uncle. Frogger, PacMan, Horse Stable, Rescue Heroes Fire Rescue, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, Tak and the Power of JuJu, and many other games that I can't remember anymore.

My first radio was one that was powered by size D batteries and had two cassette players on it. It was small, and I don't know what happened to it now.

I had this CD player that would light up as it played music up until the reader in it broke. Then I got a 6 disk CD changer player with huge speakers.

Classic little handheld games like checkers, Yahtzee! and connect four, along with a virtual golf game in the shape of a driver, and a fishing game. My dad also got my little brother and me a plug in of classic arcade games that hooked up to the TV while we had to use the joystick to move.

In 2007, Cordell and I got a Wii for Christmas with Shrek the Third for the extra game (it came with Wii Sports). Over the years we got games like Link's Crossbow Training, Deer hunting, Cabela's hunting, Lego Harry Potter (1-4 and 5-7) Lego Indiana Jones, Lego Lord of the Rings, Lego Batman, Kung Fu Panda, Rise of the Guardians, Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart Wii, and so many other games.

My first phone was an Alltell Banter, followed by a dumb phone ( I can't even remember what it was) and then an LG slider phone. Now I have an iPhone 5.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with touch screen compatibility, and a Fujitsu. I have used a Kindle Fire.

So much has changed through my life, and it continues to change.

Oedipus and Odyssey

Puns on stories (warning: crude language)

Invisible Fiend

There are many things to hate about winter. There's the cold, the poor visibility, the snow that loves to ruin everything. You have to scrape your cars and watch your step.

Even watching your step doesn't always help when confronting the slippery villain known as ice.

It causes a lot of trouble. One afternoon, it's warm and sunny and snow is melting and running across the sidewalk and you think "oh what a beautiful day!"

And then it's night time and it's cold and all that water freezes into a hardened criminal waiting to catch you off guard. You're carrying something in or going to visit a friend possibly. And you walk, unsuspectingly, on the sidewalk and then BAM!

You have slipped on ice. Now, on top of making you look downright stupid, ice also hurts you. Elbows, knees, hips, butts. Anything it wants.

I warn you friends to walk like a penguin throughout these bitter months. It could save you from being caught off guard by this invisible fiend.

First post!!
It's a Wednesday, I'm kinda tired, and I'm beginning to regret not buying a coffee to go along with my coffee cake this morning.
